The project started simply and after hundreds of hours it feels relatively complete. Its name is 'Disparity' to draw on the nature of an out-of-control capitalist society. This image tells the story of different sides of the groups that we currently see standing precariously on our world stage.
To the right we have the wealthy. Their world is green, uncluttered, spacious, beautiful. The buildings stand tall and tower over all others.
To the left is their opposite. The poor, weakened, held-back, downtrodden, controlled masses left to believe in the futile possibility of earning a place on the right.
Between the two are bridges. They are ungated but monitored. The illusion is given that opportunity exists to cross that bridge to reach the wonders on the other side but the monitors keep a quiet, strict control over that pathway. Crossing is a powerful but dangerous dream.
Standing back in the distance is the overseeing eye of government. They seem powerful and imposing but even they are dwarfed by the reach and splendor of the right.
Slicing through the middle of it all is the chasm of refuse. Storm runoff, garbage, and the discarded lives of the lowest and forgotten pass through it. Despite advantages, disadvantages and power all of our waste mixes and passes beneath us.
